8 Weeks and Sick Sick Sick!

Today is 8 weeks and I now know what it feels like to be sick for two weeks straight! I don't have too much interest in food, so when something sounds good, I grab it.I finally took both of our mother's advice and started eating a couple saltines before I get out of bed. It definitely doesn't take away my nausea completely, but it does help get my day started. The rest of the school day, I grab a peppermint whenever things feel a bit woozy. My students are so well behaved and sweet that it makes things much easier to deal with.

A few days ago, I got a cold...what luck! My nose is running and I'm sneezing like a crazy person. I'm super sleepy and take a nap just about every night for between one and three hours. Then I sleep all night. There must be a lot going on inside that tummy of mine to make me feel so fatigued! This week I've just started to realize that there is a real person growing and developing in there. I have been dreaming about what it will feel like to hold my baby. I just can't wait!

Here's what our little Crackerjack looks like this week. Our baby is developing so much! I can't wait until our September 15th doctor's appointment. We will be 9 weeks 4 days along and we'll be able to hear the heartbeat again. Please be praying that our Crackerjack continues growing healthy and strong!

8th Week of Pregnancy

Tiny Fingers and Toes

Baby's Growth and Development at 8 Weeks Pregnant

When you're between 7 and 8 weeks pregnant, your baby's body parts and proportions continue to develop and change quickly. Here's what's going on during your 8th week of pregnancy:
  • At 8 weeks pregnant, your baby is more than a half an inch long — around the length of a lima bean.
  • Your baby's tiny fingers and toes develop.
  • His arms and legs grow longer.
  • By the 8th week of your pregnancy, his wrists, elbows, and ankles are visible.
  • His eyelids form and ears, upper lip, and nose tip become more defined.
