Praising God for the gift He has given Stephen and me today!!
With nausea in full force and a headache to boot, I nervously walked into the doctor today with Steve for our 9 week check-up. It just so happened that Matt and Kim had a check-up today too for little Liam, so seeing them in the waiting room was calming right away (also thanking God for no gestational diabetes for Kimberly and nice, healthy measurements for baby Liam!!).
Using the Doppler, the nurse moved around on my belly for a few minutes and couldn't find the heartbeat. She assured us that she thought she could hear it in the background and that it seemed to be hiding behind mine. I'm sure my nerves couldn't be helping that situation! I just kept praying and repeating the scripture posted on my mirror for this week. It helped me through missing Peanut and trying not to worry with being as far along with this baby as we were when Peanut passed away: When I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God whose Word I praise. In God I trust; I will not be afraid.
Dr. Kennebeck came in, and within a few seconds she smiled super-big and said, "That's baby!" I looked over to Steve and we both had huge smiles on our faces. I just kept praising God for that crazy-fast "thump! thump! thump!" we heard coming from my tummy!
Dr. Kennebeck said we have an active little one flipping around and wiggling like crazy! Our little Crackerjack was moving so much he or she made it hard to find his or her heartbeat! The sound was just so fast-paced, and measured in at 160 beats per minute!
I just cannot get over how blessed we are. Our Crackerjack is growing and growing and the Lord is giving and giving. We are a very happy mommy and daddy right now!
Please continue your prayers for our little family. I have complete and total faith that God hears them and your love and support for us not only keeping us strong in our faith, but that God is listening and answering our prayers! We love you all so very much and will keep in prayer until we hear, God willing, Crackerjack again on October 14th for our next check-up. Also, pray for my nerves because I'll be getting a flu shot that day...eeeek!
For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe, trust and be confident Mark 11: 24
