9 Months...Woah Baby!

A recent Cohen John recap:
Friday 6th-clapped
Monday 9th- crawled
Tuesday 10th- turned 9 whole months old! 21 lbs. 29 inches long...met every milestone on the FOUR page questionnaire!
Thursday 12th- mastered pulling up
Friday 13th- cruising
Saturday 14th- cut first tooth
All at once! Cannot believe how fast this 40 weeks has gone by. And I thought 40 weeks of pregnancy went fast! Our little guy is such an amazing gift from God. We are shocked and overjoyed with him every single day.

He is mimicking the things we do and say. He watches our mouths as we say words and repeats them. So far he can say: lid, dada, momma, roar, hi, all done, more, ball, cat, and his new favorite...OUT! He has been trying lots of new foods like leeks, parsnips, mango, chicken chili, blueberries, broccoli, spinach, and minestrone! He can throw pretty well (we think!) and is getting into EVERYTHING now that he can crawl. He can turn the pages as we read, grab the spoon and feed himself, and even gesture with his hands that he wants more food. His little hands open and close as if he's saying, "GIMME!" He is just the most energetic little guy! We love his happy-go-lucky personality and our new favorite: whenever and I mean WHENEVER he hears music he has just GOT to dance!! It is the cutest thing!

Today, we got cotton balls out and had a little indoor snowball fight. It was the most fun! Click on the video below to hear Cohen giggling as Daddy tosses "snowballs" at him!

Here he is pulling up! Check out our new jammies...18 months! Still a teensie bit big, but way easier to get in and out of with how squirmy I am during changes!

Here he is trying out some blueberries for the first time...BIG fan. He also is really into strawberries!

Mommy got a little creative with the blocks :)
Okay...this is our ultimate favorite photo of ALL TIME! He has just started scrunching his nose and sniffing really hard like a dog and then laughing like crazy. I saw him trying to start that, and snapped the picture at just the right time to make him look like he's yelling. We both have it as backgrounds on our phones and iPad. Perfect timing! The kid is never angry so we just laugh and laugh at how silly it is!
L-O-V-E that little smile! He spent the next ten minutes trying his hardest to get his body up and over the gate and stairs as I fixed his dinner. :)
And now some from Christmas!

Grammy and her little buddy
Cohen thinks wiggling toes are the funniest thing!
Until he could crawl, he would do this...great form, Son!
Loves to see that baby in the mirror!
Watching Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer together. Yes, I know...we know the no TV til 2 rule, but it's RUDOLPH! :)
Okay...Daddy got hit in the face at batting practice and broke/shattered his nose so most all of the Christmas photos are going to look , as my mother put it, "...like he resisted arrest." Funny momma.
 Making our first gingerbread house!
Steve did all the drippies...tres fancy, Hubs.
Cohen eating his new favorite snack, a teething cookie, while I read our favorite One Fish Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish...which is why we picked Dr. Seuss as his 1st birthday theme...Oh yes, I'm already planning!
Daddy made our kitchen chalkboard festive :)
This is how he wakes up after every nap. Now that he can stand up in his crib, we took the breathable bumper down...our baby is growing so fast!

Christmas Eve surprise homemade biscuits! I get it from my momma :)
Our nephew, Ayden, looking particularly spiffy on Christmas Eve at Mom's. He also surprised me by wearing the same outfit to my birthday lunch a couple weeks later...how sweet!
 Family
Cohen with his grandma and great grandma
 Cohen and Audrey hugging...so sweet!
Santa left a trail of books from Cohen's room, down the stairs, and all the way to the tree!
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care....
Steve and I have always done our gift exchange at midnight, and we decided to keep our tradition this year! Steve couldn't open any gifts until the next day at his parent's brunch because we all went in on an iPad for him! :)
SANTA CAME TO TOWN! And Cohen loved every single minute...

 Our Christmas jammies....year 1.
At Grandma and Grandpa's on Christmas for brunch!
Family dinner...got a little warm in there so nakey baby it was! He was SO tired and we were working on going home :)
 Love this silly little face!

We wanted one last picture by our first family tree. We were both sad to take it down, but it definitely felt good to get everything back in order after an amazing and fun-filled Christmas!
Cohen ringing in the New Year. Right after we kissed at midnight we ran upstairs to wish him a silent happy New Year (you NEVER wake a sleeping baby in this house!) and this is how we found him. Happy New Year, Doodle Bug. We can't wait to see what 2012 brings us <3
