The Sweetest of Lemons

Just a quick little update on our champion baby boy.

Wednesday, the 12th Hudson got his routine Pentam to prevent pneumonia. His counts looked good enough to avoid any blood transfusions! We went home just under three hours. Quick day!

Remember the necklace we got from Emily's Beads of Courage? We got it updated during his final chemo session week, and here's what it looks like now. We still have to add more to it since we updated on the 5th, but we keep adding and adding as we go through this journey. Hudson will always have this as a way to see what he went through even though he won't remember it.

Master Hudson Xavier turned six months old! With this, we also figured out that though he looks so much like Daddy, he's got some Momma in there, too!

We would like to share a new venture for our family as a way to give back. More importantly, this is a way to FIGHT BACK.

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer was set up to help fight childhood cancer. Steve was looking for a way to give back when he came across their website and saw that he could open a Dayton chapter to locally work toward finding a cure. He opened a Dayton Lemon Society to help raise money toward beating childhood cancer once and for all. Our prayer is that you will join us in our fight in hopes that no family will ever again have to hear their child has cancer.

We have been in talks with many different very exciting ways to fundraise this year, and are looking forward to announcing our first of many events in the coming weeks. To stay in the loop for donations, events, and volunteer opportunities, you can like our Dayton Lemon Society Facebook Page

This has become so dear to our family's heart, and we cannot wait to start our first fundraiser, but even more, we can't wait until we are able to take Hudson! He is living proof of what these fundraising dollars can do!

"In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how He himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" ~Acts 20:35

Today, I leave you with a picture that melts my heart. These boys God has given me; what a beautiful life we are living! Thank you for your prayers. We hope you continue to go to the Lord for our baby boy. This week is another blood test to check counts and the week of the 24th we will be looking at scans to see what these last three months of chemotherapy has done to the Neuroblastoma tumors. These scans will help us make some big decisions regarding surgery.

"And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up." ~James 5:15
