Some updates:
1) I had my glucose test last Tuesday. We were told no news is good news, and we haven't heard anything yet, but I'll post how it went "officially" at my next appointment in two weeks.
2) Non-stress test for Cohen at the appointment because his kicks had changed...I just got a weird vibe, and it felt so different that Dr. Kennebeck wanted to hook him up to monitors just to make sure. I had the glucose fruit punch drink thirty minutes prior to the "test" for Cohen, so of course the minute they hooked me up, he started kicking like crazy. It was just so comforting to hear his heart beating for a half hour straight. At some points it sounded like a horse galloping! I've never listened to him that long. It was one of my favorite moments of this pregnancy so far...even though they drew my blood in the middle of it for the glucose test. :)
3) Birthing classes are going well. It's starting to make it more "real." Steve accidentally locked himself out while looking for a vending machine, which made me laugh so hard I cried. Good thing Cohen didn't choose that moment to hop on my bladder, or we may have had other problems on our hands (or pants). We're also learning some breathing and relaxation techniques that sound wonderful, but I'm a bit suspicious of how they'll actually work when a human being is working its way out of me.
4) Got my first set of "cankles" this past week. Those ankles and feet did NOT belong to me. Steve elevated my feet with pillows and rubbed them until the swelling went down, then we had a good laugh. It was so odd and, well...hideous. My toes felt all tingly like a tiny needle was being jabbed into it over and over again. Definitely quite the experience!
5) 3D/4D ultrasound scheduled for next Sunday at noon! I can't wait to see his little face!
6) Got a vinyl sticker for over Cohen's crib. Pics to come. All three of my baby showers are this coming month! The first will be my side of the family's shower on the 12th. I can't wait!!
7) Fatigue and nausea have definitely made a come back, but it's nothing like it was first trimester, thank goodness! I do take more naps, have less energy, and peanut butter made me sick to my stomach when Steve got it out the other day for a sandwich. But again, nothing as bad as I felt when this all started.
I can't believe we're already 29 weeks pregnant. I'm more and more excited to meet him every day and it's starting to really sink in what a huge blessing God has given us. Our patience and prayer for this little boy has brought us so much closer together and has made us realize how powerful God really is. How He can take two very broken hearted people and make them, though still in pain, feel this full of joy is unbelievable. We are so thankful and ask that you continue to pray for Cohen and for us as his birthday gets closer and closer.
